“This Week” Ranks No. 1 in Adults 25-54

— -- ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” stood as Sunday’s No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (981,000) on November 15, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “This Week” beat NBC’s “Meet the Press” (954,000) by 27,000 and CBS’ “Face the Nation” (857,000) by 124,000 to take the top spot for the 6th time in the 8 weeks of the season.

For the 2nd week in a row, “This Week” built on the previous week (3.092 million and 896,000, respectively, for w/o 11/8/15) in both Total Viewers (+11%) and Adults 25-54 (+9%), seeing its most watched telecast in 6 weeks – since 10/4/15. In addition, as “This Week” saw week to week growth in the key adult news demo, CBS’ “Face the Nation” (-10%) and NBC’s “Meet the Press” (-11%) turned in double-digit losses.

“This Week” also saw increases on the same Sunday last year (3.060 million and 937,000, respectively, for 11/16/14) in both Total Viewers (+12%) and Adults 25-54 (+5%). In fact, “This Week” has posted year-to-year gains in 7 of the 8 weeks this season.

Season to date, “This Week” ranks as the No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (932,000), leading CBS’ “Face the Nation” (803,000) by 129,000 and NBC’s “Meet the Press” (886,000) by 46,000, and taking the top spot at the point of a season for the first time in 22 years – since the 1993-94 season.

In addition, “This Week’s” news demo lead over “Face the Nation” is its largest at this point of a season in 17 years – since the 1998-99 season. “This Week” is also beating “Meet the Press” in the key adult news demo season to date for the 2nd year in a row.

“This Week” is improving by double digits in both Total Viewers (+13% - 3.139 million vs. 2.769 million) and Adults 25-54 (+16% - 932,000 vs. 805,000) versus its year-ago season averages to post its strongest performance in 7 years – since the 2008-09 season.
