“This Week” Ranks No. 1 on Sunday in Both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54

ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked as the No. 1 public affairs program on Sunday in both Total Viewers (3.426 million) and Adults 25-54 (964,000) on November 22, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.

“This Week” took the top spot in overall viewers for the first time this season, leading NBC’s “Meet the Press” (3.400 million) by 26,000 and CBS’ “Face the Nation” (3.199 million) by 227,000.

In Adults 25-54, “This Week” outperformed NBC’s “Meet the Press” (887,000) by 77,000 and CBS’ “Face the Nation” (729,000) by a season-best 235,000. “This Week” won in the key adult news demo for the 2nd week in a row and for the 7th time in the 9 weeks of the season.

“This Week” scored increases on the year-ago Sunday (2.986 million and 923,000, respectively, for 11/23/14) in both Total Viewers (+15%) and Adults 25-54 (+4%). In fact, “This Week” has turned in year-to-year growth in 8 of the 9 weeks this season.

Season to date, “This Week” ranks as the No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (937,000), leading CBS’ “Face the Nation” (793,000) by 144,000 and NBC’s “Meet the Press” (890,000) by 47,000, and taking the top spot at this point of the season for the first time in 22 years – since the 1993-94 season.

In addition, “This Week’s” news demo lead over “Face the Nation” is its largest season to date in 17 years – since the 1998-99 season. “This Week” is also beating “Meet the Press” in the key adult news demo season to date for the 2nd year in a row.

“This Week” is improving by double digits in both Total Viewers (+14% - 3.180 million vs. 2.792 million) and Adults 25-54 (+15% - 937,000 vs. 818,000) versus its year-ago season averages to post its strongest performance in 7 years – since the 2008-09 season.

November 2015 Sweep

For the November 2015 Sweep, ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” drew 3.247 million Total Viewers and 911,000 Adults 25-54, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. Building on the year-ago sweep (2.792 million and 825,000, respectively, for November 2014) by double-digits in both Total Viewers (+16%) and Adults 25-54 (+10%), “This Week” posted its strongest November performance in 7 years – since November 2008.

“This Week” also delivered double-digit gains over the previous sweep (2.690 million and 831,000, respectively for July 2015) in both Total Viewers (+21%) and Adults 25-54 (+10%), drawing its largest overall sweep audience in 7 years – since November 2008.

For the 2nd sweep in a row, “This Week” outperformed CBS’ “Face the Nation” (808,000) in Adults 25-54 (+103,000).
