On Sunday, August 14 ‘This Week’ Beat ‘Face the Nation’ in Adults 25-54 for the 8th Consecutive Week

— -- “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” averaged 3.187 million Total Viewers and 910,000 Adults 25-54 on August 14, 2016, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “This Week” led CBS’ “Face the Nation” (791,000) by 119,000 Adults 25-54, beating the CBS program in the key adult news demo for the 8th straight week.

“This Week” turned in week-to-week gains (3.098 million and 882,000, respectively, for 8/7/16) in both Total Viewers (+3%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%).

“This Week” increased by double digits on the year-ago Sunday (2.873 million and 773,000, respectively, on 8/16/16) in Total Viewers (+11%) and Adults 25-54 (+18%).

“This Week” improved significantly compared to its corresponding telecast 4 years ago (2.175 million and 651,000, respectively, on 8/5/12) opposite the 2012 Summer Olympics on NBC both in Total Viewers (+47%) and Adults 25-54 (+40%).

Season to date, “This Week” leads CBS’ “Face the Nation” by 24,000 Adults 25-54 (936,000 vs. 873,000), beating the CBS program by its largest news demo margin in 7 years – since the 2008-09 season.

“This Week” is improving in both Total Viewers (+15% - 3.240 million vs. 2.823 million) and Adults 25-54 (+7% - 936,000 vs. 873,000) versus its year-ago season averages. In fact, “This Week” is drawing its largest overall audience in 17 years and posting its strongest news demo performance in 7 years – since the 1998-99 and 2008-09 seasons, respectively.

NOTE: Due to the 2016 Summer Olympics, “Meet the Press” did not air.
