‘Nightline’ Is No.1 in Total Viewers for the 7th Straight Week

Season to Date, ‘Nightline’ Ranks No.1 in Total Viewers
ABC News’ “Nightline” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.310 million) for the 7th week running during the week of July 4, 2016, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” outperformed CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (947,000) by 363,000 and NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” (1.137 million) by 173,000.
“Nightline” also led the CBS program in Adults 25-54 (+122,000 – 521,000 vs. 399,000) and Adults 18-49 (+88,000 – 391,000 vs. 303,000).
“Nightline” delivered week-to-week gains (492,000 and 384,000, respectively, for w/o 6/27/16) in Adults 25-54 (+6%) and Adults 18-49 (+2%).
“Nightline” saw increases on the same week last year (1.188 million, 462,000 and 358,000, respectively, for w/o 7/6/15) across the board: Total Viewers (+10%), Adults 25-54 (+13%) and Adults 18-49 (+9%).
Season to date, “Nightline” ranks No. 1 in Total Viewers (1.560 million), leading CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (1.256 million) by 304,000 and “Late Night with Seth Meyers” (1.558 million) by 2,000.
NOTE: Due to the July 4th holiday on Monday (7/4/16), all three programs were coded specials on Monday (7/4/16) and each telecast was excluded from the averages. The weekly averages for all three programs are based on 4 days (Tue-Fri).
ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. Roxanna Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is senior broadcast producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m. EDT on the ABC Television Network.
