“Nightline” Outperforms CBS in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54

— -- Season to Date “Nightline” Leads CBS Across the Board

ABC News’ “Nightline” averaged 1.480 million Total Viewers, 563,000 Adults 25-54 and 421,000 Adults 18-49 during the week of January 18, 2016, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “Nightline” led CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (1.287 million and 532,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+193,000) and Adults 25-54 (+31,000).

Season to date, “Nightline” leads CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” across the board: Total Viewers (+330,000), Adults 25-54 (+112,000) and Adults 18-49 (+58,000).

NOTE: Due to the Martin Luther King holiday (1/18/16), CBS’ Monday telecast was coded as a special and is excluded from the weekly average. CBS’ weekly averages are based on four days (Tues-Fri), while ABC’s and NBC’s averages are based on five days.

ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. Roxanna Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is senior broadcast producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m. EST on the ABC Television Network. Together with “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Nightline” is part of ABC’s winning late-night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.
