‘Nightline’ Wins the 2016 July Sweep Among Total Viewers

— -- ‘Nightline’ Claims Its First-Ever July Sweep Victory in Its New Time-Slot
ABC News’ “Nightline” won the 2016 July Sweep in Total Viewers (1.277 million) to claim its first-ever July sweep victory in its new time-slot, based on Most Current Data from Nielsen Media Research. In fact, “Nightline” won its 2nd consecutive sweep and has won 3 of the 4 sweeps period of the 2015-16 television season – winning November 2015 and May 2016.

“Nightline” beat NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” by 25,000 (1.252 million) and CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” by 180,000 (1.097 million) during the month.

“Nightline” also outdelivered the CBS program during the July sweep in Adults 25-54 (+59,000 – 497,000 vs. 438,000) and Adults 18-49 (+32,000 – 380,000 vs. 348,000).

ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Dan Harris, Juju Chang and Byron Pitts. Roxanna Sherwood is executive producer, and Steven Baker is senior broadcast producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35-1:05 a.m. EDT on the ABC Television Network. Together with “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Nightline” is part of ABC’s winning late-night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.
