Former Microsoft boss Steve Ballmer offered the highest bid in an effort to buy the NBA team for a record-breaking $2 billion from Donald Sterling's estranged wife, Shelly Sterling, it was revealed overnight.

Ballmer, a basketball lover who once tried to buy the Sacramento Kings, said he was "honored" by the opportunity, although it’s unclear whether Donald Sterling will need to sign off.

The billionaire stepped down as CEO of Microsoft in February.

The sale will make Ballmer - who's reportedly worth more than $20 billion -- the richest majority owner in major U.S. sports. media:23924982

The shock-rocker, whose real name is Brian Warner, will play a white supremacist, according to the report.

It's not the first time Manson has appeared on the TV screen: He has also had roles on "Eastbound & Down" and "Once Upon a Time."

"'Sons' has been such a big part of my life, as well as my father's,” Manson said in a statement. “So I was determined to make him proud by being involved in what will probably be remembered as the most amazing piece of television cinema."
