Murray and Raducanu had been set to take on Zhang Shuai and Marcelo Arevalo as the final game on Court No. 1 on Saturday but her wrist pain proved too problematic to go ahead with the match. Raducanu, 21, underwent surgery on both wrists in 2023.

"Unfortunately I woke up with some stiffness in my right wrist this morning, so therefore I have decided to make the very tough decision to withdraw from the mixed doubles tonight," Raducanu said.

"I'm disappointed as I was really looking forward to playing with Andy but I've got to take care."

Murray, 37, won Wimbledon men's singles titles in 2013 and 2016, arguably the highlights of a glittering career. The 2012 U.S. Open-winner, who had hip-resurfacing surgery in 2019, has said he is unlikely to continue his career beyond this year and could bow out at the Paris Olympics.

Raducanu remains in the singles draw and will take on Lulu Sun of New Zealand in the round of 16 on Sunday.
