— -- NEW YORK -- Chicago Bulls guard Michael Carter-Williams left Monday night's game against the Brooklyn Nets because of a left knee injury and will have an MRI on Tuesday.

Carter-Williams injured the knee when he fell hard at the 9:37 mark in the second quarter. He stayed on the floor for a few moments while being checked out by the Bulls' medical staff before gingerly walking back to the locker room.

"As of right now, they're saying it's a sprained knee," Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg said. "We'll do more testing in the morning and have a better idea after that."

Carter-Williams had two rebounds in five minutes before leaving the game.
