— -- Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles will miss Sunday's game against the Houston Texans but is expected to make his season debut in Week 3, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Charles, who missed most of last season after tearing the ACL in his right knee in Week 5, is ready to play, but the Chiefs are being cautious and want him to be fully healthy before he returns, the source said.

Charles did not play in last week's season-opening victory over the San Diego ChargersSpencer Ware took most of the carries, finishing with 70 yards rushing, 129 yards receiving and a touchdown.
