Dee Ford: 'I'm better' than Clowney

— -- Jadeveon Clowney has been projected as a clear-cut first-round draft pick and is considered one of the top defensive prospects to enter the NFL in years.

Dee Ford isn't impressed.

In an interview with SiriusXM radio on Sunday, Ford said that he is better than Clowney, comparing the former South Carolina star to a "blind dog in a meat market."

"I'm better [than Clowney]," Ford, also a pass-rushing draft prospect, said during the interview. "Let's put it like this. People like to talk about size all the time. Size is pretty much overrated in my eyes.

"You can look at guys like Robert Mathis, Elvis Dumervil, Von Miller. These are 6-2 guys and under. People are just looking at the fact that [Clowney] is a physical specimen. Honestly if you watch the film, he plays like a blind dog in a meat market basically."

Clowney was tabbed as the top overall draft prospect by Scouts, Inc. and was slated to go with the No. 1 pick to the Houston Texans in ESPN Insider Todd McShay's latest mock draft.

The 6-foot-5, 266-pound Clowney said Saturday at the NFL scouting combine that he wants to be "one of the greatest of all-time."

But the 6-foot-2 Ford, who recorded 10.5 sacks last season at SEC champion Auburn, insisted that he plays with better technique than Clowney, telling any doubters to "go watch film."

"I play with a lot of technique," Ford said during the interview. "I watch a lot of film. These are the things I do, and it shows up."

Ford is listed as the No. 37 overall draft prospect by Scouts, Inc.
