— -- MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill suffered a left knee injury in the third quarter and was knocked out of the game, forcing backup quarterback Matt Moore to make his first appearance of the season.

Tannehill, one of the league's most durable quarterbacks, hasn't missed a start in five seasons. But he was hit low by Cardinals defensive tackle Calais Campbell in the second half and immediately signaled the sideline for medical attention. Tannehill walked off the field on his own with a significant limp. He was later ruled out.

Before the injury, Tannehill tied his season high with three touchdown passes.

The Dolphins (7-5) are in the thick of the playoff race. They began Sunday one game behind the Denver Broncos (8-4) for the final wild-card spot in the AFC.
