— -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will shut down Jameis Winston for a few weeks to rest his injured throwing shoulder, coach Dirk Koetter said Monday.

Koetter said the Buccaneers decided to rest Winston after the quarterback underwent an MRI on Monday.

Winston underwent X-rays Sunday after leaving the Buccaneers' loss to the New Orleans Saints.

Winston said Sunday that he did think he aggravated the sprained AC joint that had nagged him for the last three weeks.

Veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick replaced Winston against the Saints and will start next Sunday against his former team, the New York Jets.
