Mike Tolbert to opponents: If you don't like Panthers' end-zone dances, 'stop us'

— -- CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert has a solution for opponents that don't like to see him doing "The Carlton" dance or quarterback Cam Newton dabbin' after they score touchdowns.

"We don't care about the outside world and any of the scrutiny or the talking the trash of our dancing or how much fun we're having," Tolbert said on Wednesday. "If you don't want us to have fun, stop us."

The Panthers have gotten praise and criticism for their touchdown celebrations en route to Super Bowl 50 against the Denver Broncos.

Some opposing players have gotten upset over the dancing, such as Tennessee Titans linebacker Avery Williamson, who got into Newton's face after Newton broke out the Atlanta-based dab dance for the first time during a November game at Tennessee.

Newton said after that game, "I'm a firm believer if you don't like it, keep me out [of the end zone]."

Coach Ron Rivera repeatedly has defended his players' right to dance.

But Tolbert said he knows there will be questions about it next week once the team gets to the Super Bowl site in California.

"We're not surprised," he said. "We knew coming in here in April and OTAs what we wanted to do. Being able to make that goal happen, we're not surprised at all."
