Richie Incognito: 'I love these guys'

— -- Although he is suspended for the rest of this season, guard Richie Incognito says he's rooting for the Miami Dolphins as they make a push for the playoffs.

Incognito, originally suspended by the team Nov. 3 early in the Jonathan Martin bullying scandal, will remain on the NFL's suspended list with pay for the rest of the season, including the playoffs.

Incognito missed out on two game checks ($470,588) after agreeing to a compromise with the Dolphins in November when his suspension was extended with pay. He agreed to another extension this week for the rest of the season.

That, however, isn't keeping him from pulling for his teammates.

"I love these guys," Incognito told NFL.com in a telephone interview Tuesday. "I talk to them every single day, so I feel like I'm out there with them in spirit. I talk to the coaches after the game, the players."

The Dolphins (8-6), who beat the AFC East-leading New England Patriots on Sunday, are 5-2 since Martin left the team on Oct. 28 and 4-2 without Incognito. They'll earn a wild-card playoff berth if they win their final two games.

"It was so much fun watching them win a big game Sunday against a very good division opponent that's owned the AFC East," Incognito said. "I saw a team come together and play a complete football game and win a game in December when it matters with playoff implications."

Incognito told the website it's difficult not being able to help his teammates on the field.

"It's surreal to be watching from a distance, but I understand the situation," Incognito told NFL.com. "It's tough to watch -- but it's also really fun. I'm watching my brothers out there playing ball, and I'm pulling for them."

NFL special investigator Ted Wells has interviewed Incognito, Martin, other players and coaches and will file a report to the league.

"I've done everything to cooperate," Incognito told NFL.com. "I've done my part, I've told my side, and that's it. I told them everything I know -- all of the information I've got -- and I'm just waiting for the report. In the meantime, I'm just cheering my guys on."
