Soccer-Howard released from U.S. camp

— -- NEW YORK, Sept 6 - Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard has been released from the U.S. national team ahead of Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Panama in Panama City. Howard, who played in the United States' 2-0 victory against El Salvador in a CONCACAF Group A qualifier on Saturday, has returned to England, U.S. officials said during the team's training session on Monday. New York/New Jersey goalkeeper Johnnie Walker will be the second choice keeper after Kasey Keller for the game against Panama. The U.S. lead their group with four points from two games followed by El Salvador and Panama, who have three each.
