Source: Saints' Alvin Kamara (hip, ribs) plans to face Falcons
New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is planning to play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons despite dealing with hip and rib injuries, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Kamara, who is listed as questionable, is an Atlanta native and doesn't want to sit out a game in his hometown against an NFC South rival, the source said.
Saints star wide receiver Chris Olave also is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. A source told Schefter that Olave will test the hamstring in pregame warmups, but the Saints are "confident" he will play Sunday.
Kamara enters Sunday as the fourth-leading rusher in the NFL with 285 yards through three games. In 13 career games against the Falcons, he has rushed for 802 yards on 174 carries (4.6 yards per carry) with three touchdowns.
After opening the season with two wins in which they outscored their opponents 91-29, the Saints struggled on offense and fell to 2-1 last week in a 15-12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Falcons (1-2) are coming off a 22-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
