— -- The 2015-16 season has hit the homestretch and teams are jockeying for position, fighting for their postseason lives or going for records. Each day, ESPN.com will have a snapshot of the games affecting the NBA playoff picture. Here's what's at stake Tuesday:

Knicks-Pacers, 7 p.m. ET

What's at stake
Playoff seeding: An Indiana win and a Detroit loss will give the Pacers the 7-seed in the East, making anything the Pistons do in the season finale null by virtue of having lost the head-to-head series with Indiana (3-1). That would mean the Pacers begin their playoff campaign in Toronto to face the 2-seed Raptors in the first round. ESPN's BPI gives the Pacers an 86 percent chance at No. 7 and 14 percent at No. 8.

Heat-Pistons, 7:30 p.m. ET

What's at stake
Playoff seeding: A Miami win would put the Heat on the inside track for the East's 3-seed. Because of a 3-1 advantage against Atlanta this season, if the Heat and Hawks win out and finish tied in the standings, Miami will secure the 3-seed and Atlanta will fall to 4. BPI gives the Heat a 35 percent chance at the 3-seed and 39 percent at No. 6.

A Detroit win coupled with an Indiana loss to New York would similarly put the Pistons in the driver's seat for the 7-seed. However, BPI projects Detroit will finish as the 8-seed (86 percent odds).

Grizzlies-Clippers, 10:30 p.m. ET

What's at stake
Playoff seeding: While Los Angeles is locked into the West's 4-seed, Memphis is still fighting for position with Portland and Dallas. The Grizzlies have lost both head-to-head series with the idle Blazers and Mavericks, however. BPI gives the Grizzlies a 76 percent shot at the No. 7 seed and 23 percent at No. 6.
