Vote: Best and worst Ryder Cup uniforms
— -- Garish golfing outfits are nothing new, but the uniforms sported by the best of America and Europe in Ryder Cups gone by have often left fashionistas feeling a little troubled.
Ahead of the 41st edition of the tournament at Hazeltine at the end of this month, ESPN brings you eight outfits which caught the eye. Some are genuinely stylish, others not so much.

USA, 1983
Those jackets, those trousers!?Jack Nicklaus' America were dressed to impress as they arrived to do battle with Tony Jacklin's Europe at Palm Beach Gardens. The plaid and powder blue paid off -- the hosts won?14.5-13.5
USA, 1999
Possibly one of the all-time great sporting jerseys,?David Duval sported the iconic shirt on singles Sunday in 1999. Dotted with pictures of American teams gone by, it may have inspired Ben Crenshaw's team to victory in the infamous 'Battle of Brookline'. Either that, or scared them into winning so they could remove the shirts as soon as possible.
Europe, 2002
Nothing says excitement like a bit of beige. In fact, Sam Torrance's Europe could easily have joined the army in these fatigues if the whole Ryder Cup thing didn't work out. Luckily, they won by a comfortable three points.
Europe, 2008
That's more like it, Europe! Roll forward to 2008 and the visitors have decided to introduce a bit of colour into their setup. Perhaps the bright tones distracted them, however, as Nick Faldo's men slumped to their only defeat of the 21st century.
USA, 2010
Taking up the colour baton, Team USA made the trip to?Celtic Manor with these mauve beauties in their wardrobes. Also, a gentle reminder of Rickie Fowler's turn-of-the-decade hairstyle.
Europe, 2012
Did somebody say ORANGE??Jose Maria Olazabal's Europeans certainly weren't going to get lost in the dark at Medinah Country Club, although their golfing heroics would eventually outshine even their outfits.
USA, 2014
And now to the Battle of the Sweaters. Jordan Spieth's Stars-n-Stripes number made a bold statement at Gleneagles, and he got plus points for that woolly hat.
Europe, 2014
Europe matched their USA counterparts in the pullover power play with a Saltire-inspired design, paying homage to the host nation of Scotland.
