— -- Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is going to compete on the upcoming season of ABC's Dancing with the Stars.

Affectionately known as the "Woz," the Apple II creator will do his best to trip the light fantastic with other celebs including Belinda Carlisle, Denise Richards, Jewel, Nancy O'Dell, and L'il Kim.

I'm sure many of you find this news very funny, but as a journalist I need to ask many serious questions. For example, will "The Woz" show off his teddy bear-like physique in a pair of flamenco pants and a tight shirt? What does a Unix-based pirouette look like? According to Apple its computers don't crash, but what about their creator? Is this a promo for Apple's latest gadget the iDance? If he loses a shoe, will the judges let him reboot? Will Wozniak's scores from the three Dancing with the Stars judges look something like this: 1 0 1 or 0 1 0?

Although the ABC bio identifies him as "a Silicon Valley icon and philanthropist," he's not the first geek to trip the light fantastic on this show. HDNet Chairman (and Dallas Mavericks owner) Mark Cuban, who founded Broadcast.com, appeared on Season 5.

I guess we'll have to wait until March 9 to find out how the Woz performs. I, for one, will be cheering on Wozniak as he taps and spins his way to reality show glory. Although, I have to admit I find this news a little surprising: I didn't even know that Steve Woz a dancer, did you?
