— -- Facebook has made a big bet on live video -- and now the social network is making it even easier to discover content with an interactive map.

The live-streaming feature made its global debut earlier this year and as of last month was available in more than 60 countries, according to Facebook.

Facebook's map, which appears to only be available on desktop at the moment, shows blue dots representing various live video streams around the world. The larger the dot, the more viewers are watching the video at that moment.

Holding the cursor on a blue dot will bring up a thumbnail preview of a video. Clicking on a dot will make the video larger.

The live map only shows a selection of videos from around the world and it’s unclear how those feeds are chosen. The new feature also offers some insight into the popularity of live streaming, with a heavy concentration of blue dots displayed in south Asia and along the East Coast of the United States as of this morning.
