TechBytes: Google Fixing Security Flaw in Android Phones
Security gap allows access to users' contacts and calendars.
May 19, 2011— -- Google wasted no time plugging a security hole that affected nearly all its Android phones. The flaw could have allowed a hacker to access and edit a user's Google contacts and calendar on open Wi-Fi networks. The fix will roll out automatically during the next few days.
Facial Recognition App Unlocks iPhone
A new iPhone app will add an extra level of security in case the device falls into the wrong hands. Recognize Me scans your face using the phone's front-facing camera. If you pass muster, it unlocks the phone. The app should be available soon, for about $7.
Social Flights
If you've ever wanted to fly on a private jet, social networking might be able to help. A company called Social Flights allows you to organize flights for a group of your friends. The cost can be as little as $400 a person.
Social flights might also help you find an unfilled seat on someone else's private flight. Those one-way flights start at $150.
