Feb. 27, 2014 -- Winter's not over yet – not even close. If one more snowflake is going to send you over the edge, then it's time to book a beach getaway. Put away the winter coat and put on the sunscreen, your beach getaway awaits. Here are three beach deals for three different budgets:
Hilton Head Island "glamping" experience $179 per night
This one's for families: Hilton Head, South Carolina is always on the list for best family beaches. In fact, I've been going there with my own family every summer since I was about 10. The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa is offering a really neat "beach glamping" package where your oceanview room comes with access to one of the resort's oversized luxe cabanas complete with fridge, TVs with movie channels, a personal fire pit outside your cabana for s'mores, a flashlight for beach walks and a telescope for star gazing. Beyond beach glamping, the resort has three golf courses, three pools, a Heavenly Spa and a Kids Club. Hilton Head is famous for tennis, golf, dolphin watches, bike riding on the beach and more. Book here and use code GLAMP. Available through March 31.
Luxury Ladera on St Lucia for 25 percent off
And now one for adults only: Luxurious Ladera resort on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia doesn't even allow children, so no cannon-balling kiddies at the pool. This deal from Jetsetter puts the resort on sale for $390 per night through March and April – a 25 percent discount from the typical rate of $530 per night. Prepare to reconnect – there are no phones or TVs in the rooms, though the resort does have Wi-Fi. The rate includes continental breakfast and rooms are 1,000 square feet with private plunge pools plus views of the mountains and Caribbean Sea. One note: Ladera isn't directly on the beach, but the resort offers a shuttle to the Sugar Bay beach a few minutes away. Book by Feb. 28.
Fiji private island resort: $449 including all meals.
It's not cheap, but this deal from Travelzoo is a 35 percent savings on the usual price at Matangi Island Resort, a private-island getaway with just 13 cozy bungalows. The price includes all meals and complimentary activities like snorkeling, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, hiking, a village tour, an island tour, catamaran sailing, volleyball and more. You'll also get one welcome cocktail per person plus a bottle of wine and breakfast in bed one morning. Accommodations include a king bed and private veranda with beach hammock. The $449 per night price is based on a seven-night stay; five-night stays go for $476. Travel March-May 2014; Nov. 2014 - March 2015 and book by March 16. Airport transfers and tax not included.
