— -- The diamond tiaras, designer gowns and other artifacts of the fabulousness that was Princess Diana are landing in Philadelphia Oct. 2-Dec. 31 at the National Constitution Center. Tickets ($23 for adults) went on sale last week and are moving briskly.

While glitter and celebrity are crowd-pleasers, the center will augment Diana: A Celebration with more weighty fare that explores "the nature of aristocracy and America's fascination with royalty." The 10,000-square-foot exhibit (150-plus artifacts in nine galleries) has been touring the world since 2003 but hasn't been in the USA since 2007. 215-409-6700; constitutioncenter.org.

In other museum news, New York's Museum of Chinese in America opens Tuesday in new digs designed by Maya Lin, the Chinese-American architect best known for designing the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington.

Set in a former machine shop in Chinatown, the core exhibit explores the experiences of Chinese Americans from the 1850s to the present. The display wraps around the factory's sky-lit courtyard, which Lin left untouched, and biographic films are projected on its windows. Another exhibit highlights the work of contemporary artists of Chinese descent. 212-619-4785; mocanyc.org.
