— -- Twelve hours after Hurricane Matthew swept through Charleston, South Carolina, and charged up the East Coast, localized flooding could still be seen in parts of downtown.

Downed utility lines, power outages, fallen trees and isolated pockets of standing water were also left behind in the then-Category 2 hurricane’s wake.

As of Monday morning, there had been two storm-related deaths reported in the state.
