— -- Two Dallas men are being hailed heroes after they rescued a colleague who lost control of his truck and plunged into a creek, trapping him inside the sinking vehicle.

The amazing rescue was caught on video and shows Raul Alamillo Jr. and Brent English, who work for the Dallas Water Utilities, standing on the bed of the truck while trying to break a window and free their friend stuck inside, ABC affiliate WFAA reported. They eventually cut his seat belt and pulled him to safety with a rope.

Alamillo and English were on their way to a job when they noticed the truck and its flashing break lights in the White Rock Creek on Tuesday, Alamillo's sister told the station.

"He was shocked at first, but he said it was his instinct," she said of her brother's quick-thinking actions. "He had to do it. It was, 'Pull over and hurry up and get him out!'"

Dallas Water Utilities commended the workers for saving their colleague's life and said the employee in the truck lost control of the vehicle because of medical complications, according to WFAA.
