— -- The driver of a BMW in San Jose, California had a close call Friday afternoon -- escaping with barely a scratch after a massive object crashed into the windshield of the luxury sedan, fire officials said.
The driver was in the car on I-280 when the metal object -- believed to be a truck loading ramp -- pierced through the windshield around 12:40 p.m., according to Capt. Patrick Jones, of the San Jose Fire Department.

The driver was able to get himself out of the car and suffered only a minor abrasion on his right elbow, said Jones.
“We all pretty much agreed this guy needs to go out and get a lottery ticket today,” Jones said.
