— -- A Wisconsin cop had to take a deer by the horns to rescue it after it became entangled in a backyard hammock.
Jim Hruska was riding his motorcycle around Lake Noquebay Friday when he spotted an eight point buck in the backyard of a home on Elinor Drive in Marinette County. The deer was struggling to break free its horns which were caught in a hammock hanging between two oak trees.
Deputy Jesse Parker was sent to the scene, arriving around 3:15 p.m. Approaching the deer slowly, Parker used a knife to cut the rope of the hammock, freeing the deer and allowing it to run off.
