— -- ABC News Meteorologist Mel explains how this week's weather forecast could impact your fantasy football league.

Jets vs. Dolphins in Miami:

There's only a slight chance for showers in Miami on Sunday, but it's those gusty winds that could cause some issues when the ball's in the air. Gusts throughout the day could reach over 25 mph -- sitting both kickers might not be a bad idea. Jets' running backs Matt Forte and Bilal Powell both found the end zone last week against the Browns, and between the two, Forte is the obvious start. Ryan Fitzpatrick is trying to be safer with the football. Although his interceptions have been down, his completions are also struggling, and those gusty winds definitely won't help. Giving it to Forte seems to just be the best option for now! The Dolphins also have a must-start running back with Jay Ajayi, who will have it a little tougher against the Jets' rushing defense, but expect a heavy workload regardless. The Jets' secondary, on the other hand, is awful, Darelle Revis is barely a threat anymore, so start Jarvis Landry, and even Ryan Tannehill if your quarterback is on bye. I don't think breezy conditions at home will stop Tannehill from throwing the ball often against the Jets.

Saints vs. 49ers in San Francisco:

There is a chance for showers on Sunday in San Francisco, which isn't good for a California team and a dome team. The good news is that after all the storms the West Coast has been getting, it looks like it won't be a washout. This is an interesting game considering both defenses are some of the worst in the league -- especially the 49ers' defense because the Saints' offense will tear them apart. This is the week to play anyone on the Saints. Brandin Cooks should start in all lineups; he's gotten a touchdown in three consecutive games. Rookie Michael Thomas's fantasy value is definitely on the rise. He didn't look bad against Seattle's tough secondary, so this could be his week to shine against the 49ers' secondary, who have surrendered seven touchdowns to wide receivers in the last three games. Although the Saints' defense is not much better, the 49ers' offense has slim pickings. Colin Kaepernick is 0-2 since replacing Blaine Gabbert, and receivers Torrey Smith and Jeremey Kerley unfortunately still aren't fantasy-worthy even in this great matchup. Carlos Hyde is the exception, if he's healthy enough to play. The Saints allowed a league-high 12 touchdowns to backs this season.

Here are your top 10 players to start and sit based on the weather this week:

Our Wayback Weather game is when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played the Kansas City Chiefs in Tampa in 1979. They had a playoff berth on the line, but it wasn’t going to be easy; monsoon-like rain was flooding the stadium, and it just wouldn’t let up. The field turned into a splashy mud pit and the stands turned into waterfalls. Former Bucs QB Doug Williams even said he’s never seen so much rain in his life. The two teams combined for a hideous seven fumbles and neither offense could move the ball or score a touchdown. In the final seconds of the game the Bucs kicked a 19-yard field goal and won 3-0 in one of the lowest-scoring games in NFL history.
