Heavy Snowfall Collapses Roof of Pennsylvania Church
No injuries were reported.
— -- Heavy snow led to the collapse of the roof of a church in Pennsylvania.
The collapse happened Saturday at Calvary Fellowship Church in Downingtown, reports ABC station WPVI. While no injuries were reported, the the church sustained substantial damage, including a 60-foot while hole in its roof.
“The whole roof structure has come down on the balcony," Lee Wiggins, the church's senior pastor, told ABC News. "All the insulation, all the lighting, all the equipment -- that’s all up in those roofing areas."
"The fireman told us there was probably about five feet of snow on that roof," Wiggins added. "That snow came in and it’s just laying and it’s slowly melting and falling down."
Wiggins said Sunday morning service will be livestreamed from his living room.
