Nov. 22, 2013— -- A witness in a celebrity burglary case who went missing three days ago while walking his dog was found this afternoon and is being questioned by police.

Darwin Vela, 22, was scheduled to testify on Thursday in a case involving a man who is accused of stealing four computers, a DVD player and a Rolex watch that belonged to Weston Cage, actor Nicolas Cage's son, ABC News' Los Angeles station KABC-TV reported.

On Tuesday night, Vela took his dog for a walk in his South Los Angeles neighborhood. He never returned, though his fiance, Kelly McLaren, said she found the labrador in the neighborhood with a smear of blood on its leash.

"He was crying, and Darwin wasn't anywhere. So I took the leash, and I noticed on the leash there was a thumb print of blood and a drag mark, where it looked like the leash had been pulled from his arm," McLaren told KABC.

It was not immediately known where or how Vela was found or the man's condition. A statement from the Los Angeles Police Department said "investigators are now going through the process of determining what happened to him."
