Nebraska Man’s Impressions of ‘Scooby-Doo’ Characters Are Spot-On
The former Walmart employee did the impersonations for customers.
— -- A recent video of former Walmart employee Brandon Olderbak doing spot-on "Scooby-Doo" and "Shaggy" voice impressions while ringing up items for a customer at the Walmart Supercenter in North Lincoln, Nebraska, has been making the rounds on Facebook.
The hilarious impersonations had over 4 million views as of this morning. It was originally posted by customer Victoria Twombly, who is now friends with Olderbak.
"This is the coolest checker ever!!!!" Twombly wrote on Facebook. "This is just a little bit of someone who loves his job!! Please share so everyone who goes to Walmart will have a great experience like I did."
Olderbak told ABC News today that Twombly asked him to do the "Scooby" and "Shaggy" voice after originally hearing the impressions for a group of kids at the store.
"It's funny actually because I do it for kids, but their parents always enjoy it more since kids nowadays don't know 'Scooby-Doo,'" he said. "I just love doing it to make make people smile and laugh."
Olderbak added that would randomly "jump into character" for coworkers whenever he noticed they were in a bad mood or having a lousy day.
"I just want people to be happy," he said. "I'm just a very positive person."
Olderbak said he used to be the manager for the jewelry section at the Walmart Supercenter in North Lincoln but recently left to start a new job as an assistant manager at local Domino's Pizza this weekend.
Alhough hundreds of social media users are saying they hope Olderbak changes careers and gets a voiceover job, he said he'd still like to stay in Nebraska and stick with his job at Domino's.
"I mean, I'd definitely be interested and do voiceovers on the side, but I still want to live in the same house and not change who I am, "he said. "I don't really want to get famous. I just want to make people smile and laugh."
