On Oct. 10, 2015 Martin asks Christina Nelson, "You're gonna get some food down the street?" She replies, "Yeah." M: "Do you come here a lot?" C: "I've been going here for two years." M: "Do you like the food that they have" C: "Yeah...It starts off with salad." M: "Do you eat mostly salad." C: "Yeah, the salad works out.”

On Oct. 28, 2015, Martin meets Kimberly Chambers and asks, "How long have you been out here?" Kimberly: "I'm thirty-three. I've been out here for five years."M: "What brought you to living on the street?" K: "Drama." M: "Did you grow up in foster care?" K: "Yeah...I had a good experience. I used to live in Pasadena and my foster mom was really nice, real cool with me."

On Oct. 27 he meets Christian Bell. Martin asks, "Where did you live before you lived on the streets?" She replies, "North Hollywood. I was in foster care but I lived with my mom. What happened is that my mom, she had two kids after me. Well she had four kids after me. I have two little brothers. And the foster system took my brothers so..."

On Oct. 28, 2015, Martin speaks with Joseph Legaspi. Marin asks, "So you work with the Food Coalition?" Jose replies, "Yes, I'm a volunteer mostly any days that I'm here but mostly on Tuesdays I'm here and whenever Ted needs me. Cause I was homeless, well, I'm homeless now, and they do so much for everyone, for all of us, and so I like to just give back."

On Oct. 29, 2015, Martin speaks with Lionel Edwards. Martin: "Why are you wearing that name tag?" Lionel: "I went to a recruiter's meeting today." M: "You work at The LGBT Center." L: "Yes. Now I do." M: "Since today? What does it mean being a recruiter?" L: "I do outreach, sexual awareness, anything else. I get sent out to the streets teaching, educating, peer mentor they call it.”

Alexis responds, "We lost our house, me and my husband, and we got two kids, two boys, and...Well I don't like to talk about it but basically we lost our place 'cause of an eviction. My kids are now with my sister and they're basically gonna be staying there until we get a place to put a roof over our head."

In Oct. he comes upon Blayke Morgan. Martin asks, "Are you originally from LA?" Blayke responds back, "I'm from Compton." M: "There's a new movie 'Straight Outta Compton' it's supposed to be... Have you seen it?" B: "It was amazing. It was an amazing and heartfelt documentary in my mind because they paved the way for young brothers out the 'hood."

My mom moved out here for cancer treatment." M: "How is she doing?" D: "She passed away." M: "You live in a shelter now?" D: "Yes, sir."

On Oct. 10, 2015, Ivory Sears says, "A lot of shelters have bed bugs. That's why I stay away from shelters. I just eat at the shelters, I don't sleep at the shelters. I'd rather sleep outdoors somewhere. I know I have clean linen and stuff in my suitcase. I carry my house with me. I sleep right up the street. I say 'I'm gonna keep on keeping on.' Stay with the word, stay with the man upstairs."

On Oct. 29, 2015 Stony Murphy tells Martin, "I'm skilled, I have three different degrees so I don't understand why can't I get a job, why am I either too over qualified or too under qualified? I'm over qualified to flip a hamburger, I'm under qualified to do that. It's like, I don't know. So I've been homeless now for almost two years, going on two and a half years, for the first time in my life."

On Oct. 11, 2015, Travis Wagner Jr. comments, "I'm here because of God and grateful each day that I'm still alive. But what's depressing about the situation is that when I wake up each morning, I'm always usually still smiling, like normal people, you know? And every time I come into the city, like walking from my camp, I always see depression. It pisses me off. It's always negative."
