Stunning Tintypes of WTC Ironworkers
1 of 15
“Skywalkers” is a collection of 30 tintype portraits by Melissa Cacciola of Native American Mohawk Ironworkers who volunteered in the rescue efforts after 9/11 and were an integral part of the construction of One World Trade, Towers 2, 3, and 4, and the Calatrava Transportation Hub. The tintypes are on view on the 67th floor of 4 World Trade until March 12, 2015. Cacciola used a large format camera, period brass lenses and hand-made film emulsions to achieve these stunning portraits. Pictured: Geggs, Tintype, 2012.
