1. Alabama Topples Notre Dame 42-14

The Alabama Crimson Tide scored a major win against Notre Dame in the BCS title game on Monday night. Alabama State won the game 42 to 14.

2. Search On for People That Fell Through Ice in NJ

Emergency personnel are searching for as many as 4 people after they fell through the ice on Budd Lake in Morris County, New Jersey on Monday. None of them have been accounted for yet.

3. Oil Tanker Strikes Tower on SF Bay Bridge

An empty oil tanker struck a tower in the middle of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge on Monday, causing minor damage. Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the crash.

4. Officials Probing Electrical Fire at Logan Airport

Aviaton officials are probing an electrical fire that hit a Boeing Co. 787 Dreamliner just after a Japan Airlines Co. flight left Boston's International Airport on Monday. The fire was in an electrical bay where problems and an earlier in-flight Dreamliner fire were reported.

5. Secy Clinton Gets Standing Ovation

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton got a standing ovation as she returned to work on Monday after recovering from a fall where she hit her head. She was also subjected to some office ribbing as colleagues presented her with a football helmet and jersey upon her return.
