Dec. 4, 2011 — -- Police and FBI are searching for a 2-year-old girl who went missing in Detroit Friday morning after her father was allegedly carjacked at gunpoint with the toddler, Bianca, in the back seat.

Thirty minutes later, his gray Grand Marquis was found just six blocks away, in an alley with the door open and the engine running, but no child.

Sources tell ABC News affiliate WXYZ-TV in Detroit that the father, Deandre Lane, failed a polygraph test on Friday and remains in custody on unrelated warrants.

Lane has spent time in prison on weapons and narcotics charges.

Some family members have said they doubt Lane's story, because he called his girlfriend about the alleged carjacking before calling the police, according to WXYZ-TV.

An Amber Alert was issued Friday, and a joint FBI/police task force is investigating the case.

"We have every available resource out, making sure that we do every -- we dot every 'i,' cross every 't,' search every home, talk to every individual -- retrace the steps from the start of the day to make sure that we bring this young lady home safely," Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee said. "We have our canines out, our mounted unit."

Godbee said the reward for information leading to Bianca Jones' return is now at $17,500, thanks to a anonymous businessman's $15,000 donation and a $2,500 reward from Crimestoppers.

"Just please take her to a hospital, a church, a drug store, anywhere, and just leave her somewhere safe, anywhere we can find her," her mother, Banika Jones, said at a press conference.

"I want my sister back really really badly," Bianca's sister said.

This morning, Godbee released a statement saying,"In the interest of allaying some of the fears of the public regarding the apparent randomness of Bianca's disappearance, the authenticity and credibility of the original version of events is under intense scrutiny by our investigative team."

Police say two people were involved in the carjacking. They released a sketch of one, and these two descriptions:

"Suspect No. 1: A black male, approx. 6', 190 lbs., wearing a black jacket with a red shirt underneath, dark pants and a brown and black hat, a thin scraggly beard, armed with a blue steel revolver. Suspect No. 2: Undescribed, except that he is said to have exited a small red, boxy-styled car."

"The most important thing right now for us is to locate 2-year-old Bianca Jones. She was last seen wearing, according to her father, a purple coat, pink tights, pink shoes," Godbee said. "From the mother's description -- she may look like she's 3 or 4, 'cause she's a little tall for a 2-year-old."
