CBS has fired veteran journalist Charlie Rose after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct.

Multiple women shared their stories of alleged incidents with Rose with The Washington Post and Business Insider.

In a statement, CBS said Rose was terminated "effective immediately."

Rose admitted in an apology that he "behaved insensitively at times" after eight women told The Washington Post he made unwanted sexual advances towards them.

"I deeply apologize for my inappropriate behavior," he said.

The veteran TV host has been suspended from his job at CBS.
