Election Day 2024 live results: Trump projected to win the presidency

We tracked races for president, Senate, House and more across the country.

With projections made in most states across the country, ABC has projected that former President Donald Trump will win the high-stakes presidential match-up against Vice President Kamala Harris. Early Wednesday morning, Trump secured enough Electoral College votes to set himself up for a second presidency, including by flipping the key swing states of Georgia, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Plus, Republicans are set up to take back the Senate majority, with at least 51 seats locked down — while control of the House remained up in the air.

Throughout the evening and into Wednesday morning, reporters from 538 followed along every step of the way with live updates, analysis and commentary on these races and all the others down the ballot. Follow our live election-night coverage in full below.

I don't like Osborn's chances, Monica

It's true that Osborn is leading in Nebraska, Monica, but I don't like his chances. That's because most of the votes that are reporting are from relatively liberal Omaha and Lincoln. I expect Fischer to gain once rural Nebraska reports.

One particularly bad omen for Osborn: He's running basically even with Harris in the state, and Harris is not going to win Nebraska.

Maryland, New York projected to pass reproductive rights measures

ABC News has projected that the ballot measures in Maryland and New York that enshrined reproductive rights into state law will pass.

Can an independent win in Nebraska's Senate race?

With 29% of the expected vote reporting, Osborn leads Fischer 55% to 45% in the race for Nebraska’s Senate seat. Nebraska is a solidly Republican state, so Osborn's performance there has been an unexpected surprise: Recent polls have shown a tied race. Osborn has tried to cut an idiosyncratic middle path, supporting abortion rights and unions while championing the Second Amendment, and has not said whether he will caucus with either part if he wins.

Harris projected to pick up Rhode Island

ABC News has projected that Harris will pick up Rhode Island’s four electoral votes. Harris' victory in the deep blue New England state does not come as a shock as polls consistently showed her leading Trump by double-digits.
