"World News Tonight with David Muir" Is Posting Closest Overall Viewer Performance with NBC in 8 Years

ABC News’ “World News Tonight with David Muir” drew 7.704 million Total Viewers, 1.705 million Adults 25-54 and 1.202 million Adults 18-49 for the week of April 18, 2016, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.

Season to date, “World News Tonight” is also narrowing its Total Viewer season margin with “NBC Nightly News” by double digits (-37% - 274,000 vs. 433,000) for the 2nd-straight season, posting its closest overall viewer performance with the NBC program in 8 years – since the 2007-08 season.

Since David Muir took the chair in September 2014, the last 2 seasons of “World News Tonight” have drawn the ABC newscast’s its two largest overall viewer audiences in 9 years – since the 2006-07 season.

For the week, “World News Tonight” led the “CBS Evening News” by 974,000 Total Viewers, by 186,000 Adults 25-54 and by 181,000 Adults 18-49.
