ABC News’ “World News Tonight with David Muir” averaged 7.513 million Total Viewers, 1.546 million Adults 25-54 and 1.125 million Adults 18-49 for the week of June 27, 2016, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.
“World News Tonight” was up on the same week last year in Total Viewers (+15,000 - 7.513 million vs. 7.498 million for w/o 7/29/15).
Season to date, “World News Tonight” is improving versus the same point last season in Total Viewers (+28,000 - 8.504 million vs. 8.476 million). Growing for the 4th straight year, “World News Tonight” is delivering its largest overall viewer audience in 9 years – since the 2006-07 season.
“World News Tonight” is also narrowing its Total Viewer season margin with “NBC Nightly News” by double digits (-44% - 196,000 vs. 349,000) for the 2nd straight season, posting its closest overall viewer performance with the NBC program in 9 years – since the 2006-07 season.
For the week, “World News Tonight” beat the “CBS Evening News” by 1.046 million Total Viewers, by 8,000 Adults 25-54 and by 57,000 Adults 18-49.
