ABC News Announces Special Coverage of 2016 Republican and Democratic National Conventions

ABC News today announced special coverage of the 2016 Republican and Democratic National Conventions in Cleveland and Philadelphia, respectively. Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos will lead coverage on each of the four nights of both conventions (July 18-21 and July 25-28) for one hour in primetime with special reports throughout every day.
‘Good Morning America,’ ‘World News Tonight with David Muir, ‘Nightline’ and ‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ will broadcast live from both conventions.
· ‘This Week with George Stephanopoulos’ will kick off each week of convention coverage with special live editions in Cleveland on July 17 and Philadelphia on July 24.
· Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts will anchor ‘Good Morning America’ from the convention cities Monday through Thursday (July 18-21 and July 25-28).
· David Muir will anchor ‘World News Tonight’ from the convention cities Sunday through Thursday (July 17-21 and July 24-28).
· Dan Harris and Byron Pitts will lead ‘Nightline’ coverage from Cleveland and Philadelphia, Monday through Thursday (July 18-21 and July 25-28), respectively.
The powerhouse ABC News political team including Muir, Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl, “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” Co-Anchor Martha Raddatz, ‘World News Tonight’ Saturday Anchor and Senior National Correspondent Cecilia Vega, ‘World News Tonight’ Sunday Anchor and Correspondent Tom Llamas, Senior Foreign Correspondent Terry Moran and Special Correspondent and Senior Strategic Advisor Matthew Dowd will join Stephanopoulos in primetime and for special reports. ABC News Political Analyst Cokie Roberts, Political Contributor Kristen Soltis Anderson, Fusion Anchor Alicia Menendez and Contributors Donna Brazile and Bill Kristol will provide analysis on the race and all the latest developments.
Plus, Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross, Senior Justice Correspondent Pierre Thomas, Correspondent Linsey Davis and ‘Good Morning America’ Weekend News Anchor Ron Claiborne will report on the election from Cleveland and Philadelphia for ABC News.
‘The View’ will have live updates from Co-host Paula Faris at the Republican National Convention on July 21 and Co-host Joy Behar at the Democratic National Convention on July 28.
FiveThirtyEight Founder and Editor-in-Chief Nate Silver and team will be on hand to provide context and analysis.
ABC News Digital will provide comprehensive coverage of the conventions across desktop, mobile, social & OTT properties with multiple gavel-to-gavel live streams for the latest updates & analysis of all the convention proceedings. ABC News Radio will have live anchored coverage of the conventions for affiliates from the convention cities Monday through Thursday (July 18-21 and July 25-28). Correspondent Aaron Katersky will anchor nightly coverage joined by Special Contributor Ann Compton, Political Analysts Steve Roberts and Trey Hardin, Correspondents Alex Stone, Jim Ryan, Cheri Preston and Brad Mielke, Klein and Walshe.
ABC NewsOne, the affiliate news service of ABC News, will offer live coverage of both conventions for over 200 stations and international news partners. Correspondents Marci Gonzalez and Lauren Lyster and Multi Platform Reporters Kenneth Moton, Stephanie Ramos, Karen Travers and Lana Zak will report from inside and outside the convention halls. NewsOne will provide live feeds and live streams of the convention programs and other live events throughout the week in both cities.
