6 Fantastic Fashion Bloggers You Should Follow
These six fashion bloggers are about so much more than just clothes.
April 05, 2013 -- intro: Fashion is about so much more than just looking fly in some nice clothes (although, of course, that's certainly part of it). It's also about self-expression, playing with references, defying expectations and enjoying yourself. These six fashion bloggers showcase fabulous clothes and offer styling tips, sure, but they also offer a glimpse into their travels, family life, favorite foods, friendships and so much more. Plus, a few of them even DIY their own clothes and accessories, and will show you how to do the same.
Check 'em out, read through their blogs and bookmark them immediately.
quicklist: 1title: Calivintagetext: Erin enjoys vintage clothes, California, her family and being generally awesome. She explains that, while she didn't study fashion in school, her education in fashion and fashion history came from "years studying old films, soaking up the collections and examining vintage clothing from all eras." I'd describe her style as Les Parapluies de Cherbourg-meets-school uniform. Erin not only documents her own outfits, but also her trips, family get-togthers and collections by designers both fairly well-known and underground. She also happens to be quite funny, and her bangs are impeccable.

quicklist: 2title: Keiko Lynntext: Keiko, like yours truly, is a Florida girl living in Brooklyn. She chronicles her daily outfits, attends and hosts fashion events and offers truly amazing makeup tutorials. She's also a designer with her own fashion line, called Postlapsaria. She loves her pets, her family and her quite-dapper boyfriend, Bobby, who has a blog of his own. Her writing voice makes you feel like you're having a conversation about fashion with your childhood BFF. And her glasses game is on-point.

quicklist: 3title: Karla's Closettext: Karla lives in California and has a better wardrobe than anyone. She can wear a vintage cocktail dress one day and a bandeau top the next, and manages to look equally great, effortless and chic in both of them. She also designs a lovely jewelry line, which I love because everything in it is gigantic. I also admire her restraint in not naming her site "Karla's Kloset." Kudos, Karla.

quicklist: 4title: Girl with Curvestext: Tanesha also lives in California, and features fashion that runs the gamut from casual cool to business chic to fancy and/or schmancy, as well as how-to guides and beauty advice. She also hopes to use her her blog to do something more than simply showcase her great sense of style. "I want to change lives through fashion," she writes, "by promoting positive body-image, self-esteem and body-acceptance in the curvy community." But she's not just a good "curvy" fashion blogger, she's a good, hardworking, inventive, engaging fashion blogger, period.

quicklist: 5title: Luxiraretext: The person behind Luxirare is some kind of evil genius. First of all, look at this "avocado" MADE OF avocado. LOOK AT IT. ARE YOU SERIOUS. Get out of my face with that. I mean, like, put it in my face, but then get out of here because ARE YOU EVEN HUMAN. Are you a god? I mean, look at all this food. Gaze upon this HIGH-CONCEPT FOOD ART. And then these clothes. Clothes SCULPTURES. GET OUT OF HERE. I'M SCARED. I CAN'T EVEN.

quicklist: 6title: Self-Constructed Freaktext: Marlena is so cool. Just, like, smarter and cooler than most people could ever hope to be. She mixes various seemingly disparate influences and her own DIY talent to create really unique, special outfits. Everything from punk, to '90s nostalgia, to grunge, to pretty pastels, to zines, to designers like Meadham Kirchhoff and Betsey Johnson. Like, she made these daisy tights, you guys.
