Jim Carrey Talks About New Film 'The Incredible Burt Wonderstone'
Jim Carrey sits down with Daniela Ganoza to discuss the new magician comedy.
March 16, 2013 -- Jim Carrey joins Steve Carell and Steve Buscemi in "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" to tell the story of a burnt-out, out-of-touch Las Vegas magician who struggles to hold on to his comfortable life as a performer.
The famed show by Vegas magician duo Burt Wonderstone (Carell) and Anton Marvelton (Buscemi) has gone stale and so has their friendship. Carrey plays Steve Gray an up-and-coming magician whose stunt performances threaten the team's already distressed show.
"We didn't have to go too far to find comedy in this world [of Vegas magicians]," screenwriter Jonathan M. Goldstein told ABC/Univision News.
Both Carrey and Carrell play their typical roles—eccentric (Carrey) and obtuse (Carell)—for a film that has not been a hit with critics so far. Will it magically win with audiences?
The film, which opens this weekend, includes Olivia Wilde and Alan Arkin in the cast.
