The George Zimmerman Trial in 60 Seconds
George Zimmerman's trial enters third week.
July 9, 2013 -- George Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin enters its third week.
The prosecution rested its case on Friday July 5, and Zimmerman's lawyers will plead their case this week. If found guilty Zimmerman could face life in prison.
At this point, it's unclear when the trial will end, but it's estimated the case will go to the jurors in the next couple of days.
In anticipation of the verdict, the local police department has coordinated a response plan and today they issued a PSA pleading with youth not to riot in the event Zimmerman is found not guilty.
