Nov. 25, 2010— -- The holiday season has kicked into high gear and, as a result, a few retailers are shifting their policies and opening once-shuttered doors on Thanksgiving Day.
Sears, Kmart and Toys'R'Us are just a few of the stores catering to consumers looking to jumpstart their Christmas shopping on Thanksgiving Day. If you're one of the shoppers headed out on turkey day or Black Friday, the day when retailers would traditionally come out of the red, our shopping guide covers what you can expect to find at brick and mortar stores and a few online shopping destinations.
With the recent news that Walmart will price match circulars from competitors, the battle is getting fierce. Two years ago, retailers had a disastrous holiday season, but retailers may see a slight bump if more shoppers hit the aisles. The National Retail Federation is predicting holiday sales of $447.1 billion, up 2.3 from last year.
Check your local retailers to find out if opening time differs. Some of the items listed below are limited in quantity or doorbusters, which can be as few as one item. These heavily discounted items are used to lure customers through the door.

Five hours after opening, at 5 a.m., Walmart will begin its sale on electronics. A 14-megapixel Kodak C183 will retail for $59; a 32-inch LCD HDTV at $198; a Tom-Tom GPS, $79; a Nintendo DS Lite, $89.Earlier this week, in a one-two punch, Walmart delivered a blow to rivals by offering price matching for the big shopping weekend. Shoppers at the mammoth retailer can take a competitor's ad to the register, and have the price matched over the holiday weekend, starting on Friday.
