Dunkin' Donuts May Join Restaurants Offering Delivery Service

Dunkin' Donuts said it is working on delivery services for its goods.

The company said it plans to offer mobile ordering for deliveries and curbside pickups next year.

Scott Hudler, vice president of global consumer engagement for Dunkin' Brands, said the company is "always looking for new ways to drive franchisee profitability and make sure our products are more accessible and convenient for our guests."

With the growth of food delivery companies and apps, high-end restaurants and fast food chains are offering mobile food services. Chipotle now offers delivery services in some cities through food delivery companies like Postmates, Order Up and Tapingo. Delivery and service fees vary by city, from around $1.99 to $5.

The first Dunkin' Donuts opened in Quincy, Massachusetts, outside Boston, in 1950.
