Retailers aren't waiting for Thanksgiving and black Friday to jump-start the holiday buying season. The deals are starting today, the day after Halloween.
There's so much competition among stores in this selling season, which can make or break profit for the year, that retailers are throwing irresistible deals our way.
And Americans are responding. This year, retail experts estimate they're expected to spend about $80 more than they spent last season on holiday gifts, a total of $617 billion.
