The company is scheduled to report second-quarter earnings after the market closes today and investors are hoping the results will be just as high-flying.

The company has repeatedly emphasized that it's not only a camera-maker, but also supports a community that shares content of GoPro footage, like that of this video, called "Epic Roof Jump."

Since the company went public on June 25, shares of GPRO have increased nearly 90 percent.

GoPro has only one camera model, the Hero3, which sells for $199 to $399.

The company began when founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman wanted to create surf videos to share with friends.

GoPro filed for a $100 million initial public offering in May. The company has sold more than 8.5 million mini high-definition cameras since launching in July 2009.
