Made in America: Which Car Company Creates the Most American Jobs?

ABC News series is back to look at the auto industry.

June 7, 2011 -- You watched as "Made in America" gave the Usry family home a makeover. Now the series is back and takes on buying a car.

Starting Wednesday, "Made in America" is going to reveal which car and which car company create the most American jobs.

There are 698,700 people employed in the motor vehicle manufacturing industry and each auto industry job supports nine others in the United States. It is an industry that is on the rise, currently employing an estimated 40,000 more people than this time last year.

So we wondered if you are in the market for a new car sold in America, which car would create the most American jobs? Would it be a classic American brand? Or one of the foreign cars assembled here?

To find the answer, we enlisted one brave American family, the Stewarts. While they hit the dealerships to replace the old family wagon, we hit the assembly lines, pulling cars apart to find out which one had the most American parts.

What car company do you think creates the most American jobs? Take our poll and find out the correct answer this week on "World News with Diane Sawyer."
