Swatch CEO Doesn't Want to Sell a Phone for Your Wrist
The chief executive of Swatch took a swing at the Apple concept.
-- Swiss watch maker Swatch is introducing a new line of "smart" watches -- but it doesn't want to follow in the footsteps of the Apple Watch.
"We don't want to produce a mini mobile phone on your wrist," Swatch CEO Nick Hayek said at a news conference for the Swatch Group today, according to Reuters. "Others can do that."
On Monday, Apple Inc. unveiled details about its Apple Watch line, including the 18-karat gold Edition product that can cost $10,000 to $17,000.
Headquartered in Biel, Switzerland, Swatch today revealed an addition to its line of "Swatch Touch" watches.
